First-Ever Spring Knitcircus Retreat Complete! And giveaway….
Thanks a million to all of the wonderful knitters who attended and taught at the First-Ever Knitcircus Spring Retreat!Everyone who attended came ready to enjoy the day and have fun, and it showed.
My parents generously offered their home for the venue, and this crowd proved their artistic bent by correctly identifying that books on my mom's shelves are organized not alpahbetically, but by color (you can see the pink section in photo below). :)
The Sow's Ear provided darn delicious food; of course, eveyone loved the pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting, but the tuna salad was an unexpected hit, and plates of hummus, olives, veggies, greens, chips and fancy cheeses rounded out the offerings nicely.
Amy Detjen's Lace 101 and Two-Color Knitting classes were punctuated by rolling gales of laughter from knitters.
Downstairs, Kate Schiffman's Needlefelting class was enjoying their new skills and turning out gifts and toys faster than a knitter would ever expect.
My Reversible Stitches class got the hang of some tricky concepts quite nicely, and turned out some professional-looking reversible cables and built-in i-cord edgings.
Designer Talitha Kuomi gave Knitcircus Retreat participants all an exclusive chance to preview her gorgeous Flying scarf pattern, and to pet the original sample scarf!

In addition to delicous food, the Sow's Ear brought a selection of local and irresistible yarns, needles and notions, an effort which did not go unnoticed (or unrewarded) by the knitters present.
So the First-ever retreat was a first-ever party!
