September tea

When I want a quick moment of peace, I steam up the kettle and make myself a cup of tea. Earl Gray blend, cream and agave nectar stirred together make the drink, but the special cup and saucer create the experience. I picked this set up at a thrift store for pennies, but the old-fashioned look and gold flowers make me feel luxurious every time I use them. This teacup and saucer are only for me, only for enjoyment. The little spots on the tea's surface here? Well, we ran out of half and half and I was forced to use whipping cream today. Mmm, a real shame.

Moving in  a Knitcircus direction, in the Fall Issue, we've got a  survey going to find out more about our readers–do y'all love cables, lace, simple knitting? What kind of yarn do you use? Your responses really help us figure out what to choose for patterns and articles, so we're offering big thanks in the form of prizes. Yesterday we did a Random-Number-generated drawing and these survey-complete-knitters came out winners (the names look a bit odd; I'm using email handles, but making them non-identifiable. All the winners have been notified by email).

The yarny goodness winner: a brand-new skein of Handwerks yarn Silky Sock in Lipstick:

Handwerks lipstick

smeixell!

Two Knitcircus Magazine subscriptions, starting with the Fall or Gifts Issue:

   Beachcomber vest

gardengoddess and pamela_d..!

Fall Pattern Collection downloads:

aim@xtra

jeffrey_sch…

ngpagano

knitandnest

mmwarren

knaught

ruth_f…

If you took the survey already, we're doing drawings October 1 and November 1, too, so you might still win! If you didn't, you've got plenty of time to enter, so please feel free to fill out the survey and tell us what you like.

Then, too, we're sending out the Fall Newsletter in the next day or two, with bonus DVD reviews and Chocolate Ganache recipe, so if you'd like to see it in your inbox, you can sign up for the Mailing List right here on the blog, top right sidebar.

Okay,  off to sip my tea now. Enjoy your day!
