Boy, am I a lucky knitter. Ms. SABLE mentioned that she'd like to stop by a few days ago and drop something off– I had no idea she was planning to surprise me with a gorgeous skein of handspun yarn!
Look at that, She spun it all herself, and Navajo-plied it!
When she presented it to me, couldn't believe it. My mouth fell open, and I said something brilliant like,
"You spun this yourself? And you're giving it to me?"
It's about a fingering weight, and I immediately began mentally filing through all of the lace scarf patterns I've ever seen. Those luscious colors will show off a pattern nicely, but it can't be too busy or it will detract from the handspun. Right now I'm toying with something like Flit and Float, with enough stockinette sections to really let the color changes shine.
Check out Ms. SABLE's blog for better pics of the yarn! She is the official Knitcircus photographer, after all….
Speaking of Knitcircus, I'd like to say another big thank-you to Susan B. Anderson, author of the Itty Bitty Hats and Itty Bitty Nursery books, among other things, who gave us such a glowing, meaty and pic-filled review on her blog. We really appreciate your generous and kind words.
