Scouting for our knitting photoshoot yesterday, I came across this fantastic thing behind an old gas station.
It's a perfect mascot for this week, when we start laying out the Fall Knitcircus.

Yesterday marked the deadline, and I'm proud to say that we have a great pattern and article lineup for this issue– 10 knitting patterns for fall and holidays, including socks, kids' clothes, mittens, hats, sweaters and more, plus two sewing projects, an interview and some exciting articles. Woohoo!

Of course, today is the first day of school, and Mike made a special waffle breakfast before we took the littles to their classrooms. By the time I left, after sorting all their supplies and laying out snack for Belle's room, Li'l A had  built a big structure with blocks and Belle was laughing with one of her friends.

So I'll pick them up at lunch and see how it went. Last year I made a back-to-school cake, but today Li'l A requested fudge, so I'll stop by the store to grab some marshmallows and we'll make it together this afternoon.

Lots of love to everyone starting a new year (or those of you who already have!)
