We can help! These Mystery Boxes are filled with unique sale, Knitcircus-dyed yarns at deeply discounted prices. They are discounted for a variety of reasons, and may be on sale because they are seconds, are discontinued colorways or bases, or are just plain odd-balls! Seconds include things like knots and spots, and yarns might be slightly underweight, resulting in shorter yardage than normal. See notes below on what you can expect to find in your box. We're offering these boxes at a minimum of 50% off retail prices.
All yarns are wool-based. We'll send out a random box (we don't even know exactly what's in there) filled with goodness. We are not able to honor any preferences or requests. Yarns may or may not coordinate with each other.
Mystery Boxes are neither returnable or exchangeable - all sales are final. Please read descriptions below so you know what may be in your bag.
These items are on deep discount because they fall under some or all of the following conditions:
- The skeins/cakes may be prototypes: these yarns were created as prototypes, and may be colorway recipes that are neither current nor reflect any previous recipe precisely.
- The skeins/cakes may be short in standard yardage: many of these yarns are slightly underweight, so for example, 100g skeins/cakes may be approximately 5-10g short in weight. This results in a bit less than our standard yardage amounts.
- There may be knots: often these yarns were made from mill-ends or were knotted more than once or twice and therefore did not meet our quality standards.
- There may be spots: yarns may have spots of the wrong color
- Colorways may have been discontinued: these colorways may never be dyed again in our studio, so make sure you have enough for your project before you cast on.
- Yarn base might be discontinued or be a base that never made it into our standard line-up: Most of the yarns in grab bags are currently offered at Knitcircus, but some are never-seen-before or no longer offered.

- (2) large matching sock sets: These approximately 100g fingering weight sets may include any of these dye techniques: gradient OR striped OR Extreme striped OR Impressionist OR Modernist. A mix of any current/discontinued yarn bases may be included, so yarn thickness/gauge, fiber content, and color will be a surprise. Yarn weights are approximate.
- (1) medium matching sock set (approx. 75g) AND (1) 100g fingering weight semi-solid skein: The fingering weight sock set may include any of these dye techniques: gradient OR striped OR Extreme striped OR Impressionist OR Modernist. A mix of any current/discontinued yarn bases may be included, so yarn thickness/gauge, fiber content, and color will be a surprise. Yarn weights are approximate.
- MYSTERY! Includes between 250-350g of yarn. May include gradient, Impressionist, modernist cakes AND speckled skeins(s) AND/OR semi-solid skein(s): a mix of any current/discontinued yarn bases may be included, so yarn thickness/gauge, fiber content, and color will be a surprise. Yarn weights are approximate.
