Knitting By Nature Book Giveaway
Madison is such a hotbed of knitters; I ran into author Sheryl Thies at the Meg Swansen/Amy Detjen book signing at beloved LYS The Sow’s Ear, and she gave me a copy of her new book, Knitting by Nature!
I’m passing on the good fortune to one of you; this book includes 19 scarves, wraps and shawls, all inspired by garden plants. Most of the designs feature very approachable lace patterns, not surprisingly, many flower and leaf lace formations. My fave is the Red Beets lace cowl, worked in a glorious red-purple Lorna’s Laces Shepherd’s worsted. You’ll also find the Acorn lace shawl, complete with little acorn tassels, Bean Sprouts scarflet, Bleeding Heart loop-closure stole,Brussels Sprout cabled and bobbled shawl, Clematis lace scarf, Colorado Blue Spruce and Daylily shrugs, Roses Cape, Tulip scarf, Hop Vines and Violets triangular shawls, Willow poncho, Maple Leaf mobius, Zebra Grass, Pears ascot, Ostrich-Plume Fern and Hyacinth rectangular stoles.
To enter, just leave a comment with your favorite Sheryl Thies design, your favorite kind of lace project or favorite shawl shape. The mighty Random Nunmber Generator will choose a lucky winner this Friday evening, July 20th.
Take care and stay cool,
