Guest Book Review: Knitting in the Details & another sneak peek
2010 Interweave Press, 135 pages
Today, a fun Guest Book review by Sarah Schu and courtesy of Interweave Press; thanks so much for the book! I have to say, while not as gobsmacked with this book as by some of Louisa Harding's other amazing pattern collections, I did immediately cast on an Amber for my mom and gave it to her as a gift less than a week later.
I was so excited by everything in this book. I have been looking for a book with a focus on embroidery, beading and other embellishments. Knitting in the Details has 24 projects with the ability ranging from the advanced beginner to the advanced knitter. The projects are geared towards women, including accessories, like purses and scarves, to shrugs and sweaters (bust size range is 32”-47”).
I cannot wait to try making the Verity, a little beaded clutch. It fits my need for a quick project and my love of purses. I have never done beading, but this purse might have to be my first beaded project… When I showed the book to my mom, she said, “This book is so cool”, and proceeded to pick out a project for herself, an embroidered cloche named Amber, and a shrug for my sister named Bettine. Knitting in the Details has a project for everyone, and it looks like my needles are going to be busy for a little while!
