41107_026_500x374My orchid is blooming!  After being dormant for a long time, my plant gave us this gift of beauty.  The only thing not-quite-right with this picture is the blowing snowstorm out the window.

As I sit inside knitting, I wish I was done already with my cardigan.  Today would be a perfect day to wrap myself up in it’s soft comfyness.  But the reality is that I am only 3/19ths of the way done.  To make matters worse, it’s a 2×3 rib and the knitwork just scrunches up and makes my progress look smaller than it really is.  Sigh.  By the time I finish this project, the summer heat will be here and I’ll have to wait even longer for the satisfaction of finally wearing it.

But anyway, here is the update and some stats:

Project:Ribbed Jacket by Joanne Seiff
Yarn:Andean Silk from Knit Picks.  55% Superfine Alpaca, 23% Silk, 22% Merino Wool in Navy
# Skeins: 19
Needles:ChiaGoo Bamboo size 6 circulars, 32 inches.
# of times defecated upon: 2
Miles traveled:2312

As much as I’d like to work on it more today, one of my little girls has a stomach bug and this sweater seems to be a magnet for unexpected bodily secretions.  It’s being put safely away until later.
