Pattern - Appia, by Hilary Smith Callis, ready to ship - SALE

Appia by Hilary Smith Callis

Using just one 100g/400yd skein of fingering weight yarn, you can knit a small or large version of this pattern from any of our lovely colorways in kettle-dyed semi-solids or speckled handpaints. Or find kits that we've put together here.

From the designer: "Named for the famous Roman road, Appia is a lacey, light cowl-shawl hybrid with a pretty picot bind off at the edge. It is shaped like a semi-circular shawl with evenly spaced increase rows, but is worked partially in the round, so it can be worn as a cowl without any dangling ends (a shape similar to my Starshower and Adama designs). The all-over Roman Stripe stitch pattern is simple to execute and creates a knitted fabric that is both lacey and highly textured, for maximum impact. Appia comes in two sizes, each taking less than a skein of sock yarn, and is quick enough to make one for yourself and for a gift!"
