Zuzu's Petals by Carina Spencer

Zuzu's Petals combines stockinette stitch and lace for a delicate, easy-to-wear cowl. It effortlessly keeps your neck warm with the look of a shawl but no pesky ends to fight with. Grab one of our gradients, and go!

Here's a perfect, easy-to-wear cowl that is perfect for a gradient cake! We've knitted it out of both DK weight and bulky weight, and Spencer has included instructions for all the yarn weights between fingering weight and super bulky weight.

From the designer: "All the style of a shawlette without the fuss of trying to keep it around your neck! This easy to wear cowl is designed to mimic the look of a shawl, casually worn as a scarf. The pattern starts out worked flat like a top-down shawl, and is then joined and worked in the round to the bottom edge. I call these hybrid patterns, “cowlettes.”

Pattern  includes charts and written directions for four gauges to accommodate fingering - super bulky weight yarns. A video tutorial is provided to walk you through all the tricky bits of the pattern. Watch it here on Youtube!

Pattern also includes instructions on adapting the cowlette in worsted weight for your pet!"

The Zuzu's Petals Cowlette is designed by Carina Spencer. This kit includes:

  • 100g gradient cake in the color of your choice (use dropdown menu) in our DK and bulky yarn bases (see yarn base information below)
  • pattern - make sure to choose YES from the drop-down menu, otherwise no pattern will be sent and you can purchase the pattern yourself from Ravelry.com. See notes below on pattern.

You will receive enough yarn to make one cowlette. Note: The pink/white sample uses the colorway A Rose By Any Other Name in our Divine DK. The purple/pink/yellow/green sample uses the colorway Walking on Sunshine in our Tremendous bulky.

Yarn Bases available:

Divine - DK weight (100% superwash Merino) - 260 yards/100g. Wonderfully soft, ideal for accessories and garments alike.

Daring - DK weight (80% superwash Merino/10% cashmere/10% nylon) - 250 yds/100g. Succulent luxury blend.

Tremendous - bulky weight (100% superwash Merino wool) - 130 yds/100g. This light bulky weight has bounce and a tight twist, making it super squishy.
