Barley Hat Complete and Kickstarter Update

Remember my Barley hat from last week? It’s all done! Three days from cast on to bind off, which is super fast for me. I love working with worsted weight yarn. So many of my projects are with fingering weight, I sometimes forget how much fun it is to cast on with a #7 needle and make quick progress!

The yarn was our Over the Rainbow 50g Ringmaster. I made the photoset with Pic Collage, an iphone app my 12-year-old recommended. Pretty sophisticated graphic design at your fingertips! Sometimes the tech abilities the kids have within easy reach makes my mind do a double take.

Kickstarter Update

It’s been just over six months since we got our Kickstarter fully backed, and what a whirlwind! It’s hard to remember that is was only that long ago that we were working out of my basement. Every day when I walk into the Studio, I breathe a sigh of satisfaction. And Katie the Store Manager and my dad with his woodworking skills have worked wonders on the small display space.

Because so many people stepped forward to make the Studio happen, it took until now to complete the fulfilment, but we’re proud to say that all of the yarn-based rewards are in the mail! From the wonderful souls who chose a kettle-dyed skein to the tremendous backers who had the Cornucopia of yarns, all of the yarn has been dyed, dried, processed, labeled, packaged and headed your way. A few rewards like special techniques videos, scarves knit by me and a one-on-one handpainting class will wrap up soon.

We can’t thank you enough for the chance to work in a beautiful, spacious environment, and to welcome customers to the store and knitters to special classes and events.

On behalf of myself, Amy D, Amy J, Shari, Tashi, Katie and Emily, THANK YOU for making our dream of a Studio and Store come true.

Happy knitting,

Jaala
