We are not able to honor any preferences or color requests. We'll choose your box at random, so even we don't know what you'll get!
Mystery Kits are neither returnable or exchangeable - all sales are final. Please read descriptions below so you know what may be in your box. Once these boxes are sold out, they're gone, so stock up now!
The Yarn
The yarns are discounted for a variety of reasons, and may be on sale because they are seconds, are discontinued colorways or bases, or are just plain odd-balls! Seconds include things like knots and spots, and yarns might be slightly underweight, resulting in shorter yardage than normal. See notes below on what you can expect to find in your box. All yarns are wool-based.
These items are on deep discount because they fall under some or all of the following conditions:
- The skeins/cakes may be prototypes: these yarns were created as prototypes, and may be colorway recipes that are neither current nor reflect any previous recipe precisely.
- The skeins/cakes may be short in standard yardage: many of these yarns are slightly underweight, so for example, 100g skeins/cakes may be approximately 5-10g short in weight. This results in a bit less than our standard yardage amounts.
- There may be knots: often these yarns were made from mill-ends or were knotted more than once or twice and therefore did not meet our quality standards.
- There may be spots: yarns may have spots of the wrong color
- Colorways may have been discontinued: these colorways may never be dyed again in our studio, so make sure you have enough for your project before you cast on.
- Yarn base might be discontinued or be a base that never made it into our standard line-up: Most of the yarns in grab bags are currently offered at Knitcircus, but some are never-seen-before or no longer offered.
