About this Colorway
The First Pride Was a Riot: It's important to remember as we fight for LGBTQ+ rights year-round that Pride month was born out of a necessity for the Queer community to protect itself from police brutality, discrimination, and violence. The overlay of black speckles atop a cheery, cloud-filled rainbow of color represents the violent beginnings of the gay rights movement, and the work we have yet to do to gain acceptance and safety for the Queer community. Always remember: The First Pride Was a Riot!
This skein is one of our Speckled yarns, which offer gorgeous spots of the colors we love on a variegated background. These are perfect when you want extra pops of color in your finished piece!
Notes about Knitcircus Yarns
